About
The Department of Music offers undergraduate and graduate programs in a variety of subjects, as well as group and private lessons for students, and opportunities for ensemble participation. The department presents more than 150 concerts and recitals each year, providing performance opportunities for students throughout the University.
The Stanford Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA) is a multi-disciplinary facility where composers and researchers work together using computer-based technology both as an artistic medium and as a research tool.
Over 1,000 students, most of whom are not music majors, participate in ensembles, chamber groups, private lessons, and major productions on campus. In 2013 the 844-seat Bing Concert Hall will open for student, faculty and visiting artist performances.
