CDEHA was established in 1999 to promote the study of global trends in demography, economics, health, and health care of the elderly.
The center encourages cross-disciplinary collaborations and recruits promising trainees and junior faculty to conduct research in this area.
CDEHA's International Network Director, Grant Miller, helps develop Bengal, India's first Institute of Public Health.
In October 2015, CDEHA and the Stanford Center for International Development (SCID) co-hosted a Conference on Health, Demography and Aging in China.
