It looks at though Warner Bros. has a lot of faith in J.K. Rowling‘s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them franchise. During a live event yesterday that premiered three minutes of footage from the film, Warner Bros and J.K. Rowling announced that the movie is the first in a total of five feature films. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton and Ron Perlman. It opens in theaters on November 18th.
Now that we’re three movies in to the DCEU, fans are now turning their attention to the next film on tap, Wonder Woman. Speaking to Variety, president of DC Entertainment Diane Nelson spoke a bit about the previous entries in their extended universe while promising something a bit different for our first adventure with Diana Prince.

In a report from THR, Disney is developing a live action adaptation of the classic Spanish novel Don Quixote. Based on the classic novel of 1605, the movie will be produced by Million Dollar Arm’s Gordon Gray and Billy Ray. Ray, the Oscar-nominated screenwriter of Captain Phillips and The Hunger Games will also pen the script.
It’s been a long road through development hell for Meg, but cameras are finally starting to roll in New Zealand on the Warner Bros. picture. Directed by National Treasure’s Jon Turteltaub, the movie will star Jason Statham alongside Chinese actress Li Bingbing. The story about an unstoppable, pre-historic 75-foot-long shark known as the Megalodon, Meg is set to be released in theaters on March 2, 2018.
Disney is moving full-speed ahead with its The Lion King remake. Per THR, Disney has hired veteran screenwriter Jeff Nathanson to handle the script. Nathanson’s credits include Catch Me If You Can and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull as well as the most recent Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The Lion King will build on the technology that director Jon Favreau established with The Jungle Book, which used a single live-action actor and filled the rest in with stunning visual effects. No release date has been set.
Universal is on board for another Ride Along with a third installment of the comedy series starring Ice Cube and Kevin Hart on the way. Speaking to TheWrap, director Tim Story told the outlet that his next movie will be Ride Along 3 revealing that he is waiting for the script, which is currently being written by screenwriters Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi.
