Dr. Farouk Dey is Associate Vice Provost of Student Affairs and Dean of Career Education at Stanford University. He is leading the expansion of career education at Stanford and implementing a new vision and a reinvented model of connections, communities, purposeful learning, and meaningful work for college students and alumni. Dr. Dey has held executive leadership roles at Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, the University of Florida, the National Association for Colleges and Employers (NACE), and the American College Personnel Association (ACPA). His credentials include a PhD in Higher Education Administration, EdS in Higher Education Administration, MBA, MEd in Counseling Psychology, and BBA in Finance. Author of several articles and book chapters, Dr. Dey has served as a consultant for many organizations and universities, faculty at several institutes, and keynote speaker at many conferences in the US and around the world.
Betsy has been with Stanford for 30+ years. She manages administrative services, which encompass the management of the budget, human resources, facilities, health & safety, and day-to-day operations of BEAM. She is also is part of BEAM's leadership team, which provides direction on issues, such as budget, policies and procedures, and other critical decisions. Betsy holds a BA in child development from California Polytechnic State University - San Luis Obispo.
Jing Jing has been with the organization for 20+ years. Her responsibilities include overseeing the Center's accounting and assisting with the budget. She also greatly enjoys managing the student assistants and helping students find jobs on campus. A former teacher with an MA degree in Linguistics, she is a native speaker of Mandarin, proficient in Taiwanese and has a basic knowledge of German. Jing Jing enjoys spending time with her husband and two children as well as travelling, photography, and embroidery.
Dietra has been with the staff for 12 years. In this role, she is the first point of contact for visitors at BEAM. Dietra has 18 years of administrative experience, and in 2007, graduated from the University of Phoenix with a BA degree in Business Management. She loves spending time with her husband and five children. In her spare time, what little there is of it, she enjoys shopping, cooking, watching sports, and baking.
