In a first-ever gobal analysis of kelp forests, Professor Fiorenza Micheli and a team of international scientiests found that some populations are remaining stable or increasing despite global climate change in part due to local management of stressors such as pollution, fishing and coastal development.  The study was published in the November 15, 2016 issue of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
