Clayman Institute for Gender Research

The Clayman Institute for Gender Research is honored to welcome Carla Harris as the 2017 keynote speaker of its bi-annual Jing Lyman lecture series. Carla Harris is Vice Chairman, Wealth Management, Managing Director and Senior Client Advisor at Morgan Stanley. Known for her path-breaking work as a leader, educator, and speaker who empowers and powerfully engages her audiences, Ms. Harris’ lecture will address “Tools for Maximizing your Career Success.” She will share some of her pearls of wisdom (“Carla’s Pearls”) on how to change perceptions, leverage voices, and use other key strategies to succeed in the workplace.

The Jing Lyman Lecture series recognizes women and men trailblazers who contribute significantly to gender equality over their lifetime. Jing Lyman was the wife of past Stanford president Dick Lyman, and she dedicated her life to social change and issues such as gender equality, income equality, and affordable housing in Palo Alto. For the Jing Lyman Lecture, special emphasis is placed on inviting those whose work has influenced the way we think about gender equality via research, journalism, building organizations, or other work that has had a lasting impact on building a society where both women and men flourish.
