Bio

Clifton B. Parker started as CISAC's communications manager in September 2016. Clifton brings to CISAC extensive experience in university communications at both Stanford and UC Davis. Most recently, he was deputy director for social science communications at the Stanford News Service, where he edited and wrote news stories on faculty research, including the work of CISAC scholars, and created multimedia feature packages and digital content for the Stanford homepage and social media channels.

Prior to working in academia, he ran his own communications consultancy firm and before that he was a reporter for various U.S. papers, including as a sportswriter for the Sacramento Bee. He is a published author and co-editor of four books on American baseball, and, early on in his career, was press secretary for former U.S. Congressman Bill McCollum in Washington, D.C.

Clifton earned his bachelor's degree in political science from Pennsylvania State University and pursued graduate studies in political science and journalism at the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Florida, respectively.
