I study the political and cultural history of the Baltic region with a particular focus in the political legitimation practices under various regimes in the area throughout 20th century. This includes the study of political culture, mass media, societal mobilization and visual propaganda. My other major research interest is the history of Soviet and Eastern European cinema after the Second World War.
