Critical Care

The Critical Care Medicine service has been providing state of the art care for patients at Stanford with life-threatening conditions since 1975.

A comprehensive group of attending physicians from both Anesthesiology, Pulmonary Medicine and Emergency Medicine personally direct all care given to patients on the service and lead teaching programs for residents and students, as well as a comprehensive fellowship program for those interested in a career in Critical Care Medicine.

The Division of Critical Care Medicine (CCM) is a team of outstanding clinicians, scientists, and scholars dedicated to improving the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses requiring intensive care.

Fellowships

The Stanford University Critical Care Medicine (CCM) fellowship program is an ACGME certified program open to applicants with background residency training in anesthesia and internal medicine.  

Research

Research into the problems of crtically care ill patients is invesitaged at the clinical and molecular level.



Patient Care

Providing immediate consultation for patients in other wards of the hospitals as well as in outside hospitals. Expedited transfers to the ICU at Stanford Medical Center are possible with our lifelight helicopter system.
