City Clinic Operations Update

We have reshaped our clinic experience to protect patients and staff from COVID-19 while still providing services. As of October 1, 2020, we are only seeing patients who:

  • Have symptoms of a sexually transmitted disease (STD)

  • Have a partner with an STD

  • Have been contacted by a SF City Clinic staff person and asked to come in

  • Are requesting HIV post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) or pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP)

  • Are in our PrEP program and need STI/HIV testing and medication refills

  • Are HIV positive and not on medication, and would like help getting into care

  • Need contraception

If you haven’t been to the clinic recently, you will see many new safety measures in place at your next visit:

  • Patients must call before coming (415-487-5500), to resolve as many issues as possible by phone and minimize time in clinic

  • Temperature checks and symptom screening at entry for all visitors

  • Our staff and patients wear face coverings at all times

  • Physical distancing and increased cleaning of high-touch surfaces

  • Even if you come into the clinic, some visit procedures may be performed by phone

  • If our waiting room reaches capacity, you may need to wait outside the building

SF City Clinic is not able to test patients for coronavirus. For information about how to get tested in SF, visit: https://sf.gov/find-out-how-get-tested-coronavirus
