Bill Patterson, Woods Institute Advisory Council Member, Dies at 48
It is with a sense of profound sadness that we mourn the loss of our friend and advisor, Bill Patterson, who died on Sept. 24 at his home in Ross, Calif., after a brave battle with cancer fought with courage and dignity. He was 48. A memorial service for family and friends was held in San Francisco on Oct. 13.

Woods Institute Hosts Water Salon in San Francisco
On Oct. 7, the Woods Institute held a Water Salon focusing on freshwater challenges facing California and the West. Stanford researchers discussed their work solving issues related to groundwater, water re-use and performance metrics for water management.
