EPA's Campus at Federal Triangle
EPA's main campus at Federal Triangle consists of a cluster of adjacent buildings including:
- William Jefferson Clinton North, South (formerly Ariel Rios North and South), East and West, and
- the Ronald Reagan Building.
The main campus is located around the Woodrow Wilson Plaza between 12th and 14th Streets and Pennsylvania and Constitution Avenues NW. The White House, the Washington Monument, and the U.S. Capitol are within walking distance. See a complete map of the area. Exit
Visiting Federal Triangle
Although our street address is 1200 Pennsylvania Avenue, the main entrances for visitors are not along Pennsylvania Avenue. Ask the person you're visiting the name of his or her building, and then follow the instructions below.
Taking the Metro
Federal Triangle Station
EPA's Federal Triangle campus is most easily accessed by taking DC's subway, commonly called "Metro." The campus is located at the Federal Triangle Metro stop on the Blue/Orange/Silver lines.

From Federal Triangle Station to the Campus
Get off the Metro at Federal Triangle. After exiting the turnstiles, go up both escalators to street level. To your right is the main entrance to the William Jefferson Clinton North building (WJC North) and to your left is the main entrance to the William Jefferson Clinton South building (WJC South). Across the courtyard in front of you is the Reagan Building. Proceed to the building you are visiting.

From Other Metro Stations to the Campus
The main entrance to EPA's Federal Triangle campus is on 12th St. NW, a half block south of the intersection of 12th and Pennsylvania Avenue NW. About midway through the block headed south, follow the curve of the building to the center arch. and you'll see the Metro escalator for the Federal Triangle station.
The campus is also walking distance from the Metro Center station, which is accessible by Red, Blue, and Orange lines.
- Come up at the F and 12th Street Exit of Metro Center
- Turn right (south) onto 12th Street
- Walk two blocks, crossing E Street and Pennsylvania Avenue
- Proceed down 12th Street towards the Federal Triangle Metro station entrance (archway with escalators).

Facing away from 12th Street:
- To your right is WJC North and to your left is WJC South.
- Across the courtyard in front of you is the Reagan Building.
- William Jefferson Clinton East and West (WJC East and WJC West) are along Constitution Avenue. To get there, turn around, walk out to 12th Street, turn right and walk to Constitution Avenue. WJC East is the first building on the right, followed by the Mellon Auditorium and WJC West.

From Northern Virginia/Areas Southwest
- North on I-395 North
- Cross the Potomac River
- Bear to the left to exit on 14th Street NW
- Cross the National Mall
- Right onto Pennsylvania Avenue NW
- Start looking for a garage to park in. There is underground parking in one building EPA is located in, the Ronald Reagan Building, and there are multiple garages on the other side of Pennsylvania Avenue on 12th, 13th, E, F, G and other nearby streets.

- East on the Dulles Airport Access Road / Toll Road. Cross I-495 (the Beltway).
- Merge onto I-66 East.
- Cross the Potomac River
- Continue straight on US-50 East/Constitution Avenue
- Left onto 15th Street NW
- Right onto Pennsylvania Avenue

Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center
There is an underground parking garage available for guests. The garage entrance is located at 13-1/2 Street off of Pennsylvania Avenue, opposite Freedom Plaza.

The closest Washington Metrorail station is Crystal City (Blue/Yellow lines) but please note that Metro is approximately one mile from our building.
From the Crystal City station,
- at the top of the escalator turn left to head south on Jefferson Davis Highway,
- turn left onto 27th Street, and turn right onto Crystal Drive to 2777 / 2733 S. Crystal.
Besides walking, street transportation includes:
- a taxi (available at any of the hotels near the Metro station) or
- Metro's Metroway service (use the 27th St. and Crystal Drive stop)
- From Washington Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA):
- Taxi
- Metrorail to Crystal City (next stop on route)
- Blue Line towards Largo Town Center or
- Yellow Line towards Fort Totten
- From the Crystal City Metro Station, take Metro's Metroway service
Directions: Driving
From U.S. Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway) turn eastward on 27th Street. Go straight ahead (the road actually veers slightly to the left, then right) to Crystal Drive. Turn left on Crystal Drive and One Potomac Yard is the large building immediately on your right across Crystal Drive from the Hyatt Hotel.
Public parking, at an hourly or all-day rate, is available in the underground garage. The garage is located on Potomac Ave, which is behind the building.

Building Access
The Environmental Science Center is located on a closed military post. Before you visit, please review:Security/Building Access
Guests visiting any EPA headquarters building, no matter the location:
- need to have an acceptable form of photo identification, such as a driver's license, to enter;
- may be asked to go through a metal detector; and
- must be signed in and escorted by an EPA employee. Call from the lobby the EPA staff person you wish to visit for an escort to your meeting location.
Acceptable Forms of Photo Identification
The Department of Homeland Security has begun implementing REAL ID Act requirements for visitors who present state-issued driver’s licenses as IDs at restricted federal facilities. Driver's licenses from states and territories that do not comply with the REAL ID Act will not be accepted as identification. In EPA headquarters buildings, driver’s licenses from the following states and territories do not comply with REAL ID Act requirements and will not be considered acceptable forms of photo IDs:
