Mark HagueMark Hague serves as the Acting Regional Administrator for Region 7, which consists of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and nine tribal nations. He is responsible for overseeing the overall operations within the region, and the implementation of federal environmental rules and regulations. As Regional Administrator, Hague serves as a liaison with the public, elected officials, organizations, and others.

Hague has 35 years of experience with EPA. He began his career at EPA headquarters in Washington, D.C., in 1980. He worked in the Office of Noise Abatement and Control and in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer.

In 2014, headquarters officials requested that he serve as the Acting Deputy Chief Financial Officer in Washington, D.C. During this time, Hague helped lead the agency’s fiscal year 2016 budget formulation that culminated in the president’s budget request announcement in February 2015.

Hague has served Region 7 in a variety of leadership roles, which have included Deputy Regional Administrator (DRA), Director of the Enforcement Coordination Office (ECO), as well as Acting Assistant Regional Administrator for the Office of Policy and Management. During his tenure as the DRA in Region 7, he spearheaded significant business improvement efforts (LEAN) and employee recruitment and development programs. As the ECO Director, he managed Environmental Justice Program operations and activities. He has worked closely with state and tribal partners to build cooperative relationships to implement environmental laws throughout the region.

He is a member of the Senior Executive Service (SES). SES members possess well-honed executive skills and share a strong commitment to public service.

Hague has received numerous awards and recognition for his work in environmental protection, including the EPA Silver Medal for the Healthy Homes Community Initiative and the EPA Award for Exemplary Leadership in Human Resources Management.

Hague graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in May 1980 with a degree in Political Science/Public Administration.
