State and Local Beach Programs
When state and local governments decide to open or close a beach, they report that information to EPA. Because they vary in how quickly they send it to EPA, we don’t always have real-time reports. You can find the latest information that states have sent us in the EPA Beach Advisory and Closing On-line Notification (BEACON) system.
