EPA provides grants and funding to the Nation's leading researchers in academia and small businesses around the country to improve the scientific basis for decisions on national environmental issues. Research by grantees complements the research by EPA.

Research grants that focus on water issues are providing critical information to identify and assess water contaminants, advance public health protection through water infrastructure sustainability, safeguard sources of drinking water, and respond to changes in climate on water quality and availability.
