I grew up in North Hollywood within a predominantly Latino neighborhood. My parents sacrifices and struggle have been my constant motivation, always pushing me to achieve greater success. I have three passions: sports, fashion and the built environment. The interaction between humans and buildings, as well as with cities, has fascinated me since I can remember. This led me to double major in Communication and Urban Planning. I currently work in a real estate development firm where we build shopping centers in predominantly Latino, undeserved communities. Finally, I enjoy mentoring young Latinas and helping them get to into college.

I was born in Mexico but immigrated to the U.S. (California) when I was very young. I am very thankful to my parents, sister, and brother for their sacrifices made to support my educational endeavors. I recently moved to New York after many years at Stanford. As a faculty fellow, I research race, ethnicity, and culture in adolescent development using an interdisciplinary approach to examine psychological and behavioral processes, and educational outcomes of immigrant adolescents. I am dedicated to conducting research that focuses on social justice and equity in the education of immigrant and Indigenous youth. During my graduate career at Stanford I was the recipient of multiple fellowships, various research grants, and awards. Being part of Lambda Theta Nu Sorority Inc. has been incredibly valuable as I pursued my educational, professional, and personal goals. Therefore, I will always continue to support my sorors as an alumna.
