Stephen Palumbi elected to the National Academy of Sciences

Professor Stephen Palumbi was elected to the National Academy of Sciences at its  Annual Meeting on May 3, 2016.  Dr. Palumbi is the Jane and Marshall Jr. Professor in Marine Sciences and Director of Hopkins Marine Station.

The NAS is an honorific society of distinguished scholars engaged in scientific and engineering research.  Members of the Academy are elected in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research; election to the Academy is considered one of the highest honors that can be accorded a scientist or engineer.
