Stanford's entrepreneurial learning and working environment are reflected in the wide range of technology-related resources. The following list provides gateways into units on campus that provide technology learning opportunities for faculty.
Academic Technology Lab
The Academic Technology Lab (ATL) is a resource center for Stanford University faculty members, instructors and teaching assistants interested in using technology to improve teaching, learning and research at Stanford. The ATL is a service of the Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning.
SOAP provides resources for web creators so that they can produce materials which are accessible to the broadest audience possible. The program achieves this through the promotion of universal design and web standards compliance.
The Stanford Technology Commons Web site is a community space for sharing technical knowledge. It gathers dispersed resources and connects various technology groups on campus to encourage communication. The site functions like a wiki. All SUNet ID holders may create accounts, allowing them to post articles, edit other's posts, and comment on postings. Optionally, individuals can subscribe to the site through RSS feeds to be notified of additions or changes to the site.
Many types of technology training are available, ranging from classroom courses to self-paced, computer-based training. Included are ITS classes in Mac and PC-based applications, Forsythe systems, operating systems, and web and other internet topics.
