San Francisco International Airport

SuperShuttle provides transportation from San Jose and San Francisco airports to Stanford and surrounding areas (Palo Alto, Mountain View, Menlo Park) at a discounted rate.   If you choose to take a taxi to Stanford, it will cost you approximately $79.

To reach Stanford via public transportation, you can take BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) from the San Francisco airport to the Millbrae Caltrain station and transfer to the Caltrain to Palo Alto. The free Stanford shuttle, called Marguerite, meets most trains at the Palo Alto station from 6 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. Monday – Friday. The total cost via BART and Caltrain is approximately $9 one way. Another option is to take a SamTrans bus from the airport to Palo Alto. The bus fare is approximately $4.00.

San Jose International Airport

To reach Stanford via public transportation, you can take a shuttle from the airport to the Santa Clara Caltrain station and transfer to the Caltrain to Palo Alto. The free Stanford shuttle, called Marguerite, meets most trains at the Palo Alto station from 6 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. Monday – Friday.
