UPDATE: Change in How Actions are Submitted
As of February 1, 2017, all Clinician Educator, Instructor, and Other Teaching Title appointments must be submitted through FASA, not emailed to the Office of Academic Affairs. In addition, you do not need to fill out the application form (“green form”, CE appointment form, visiting scholar appointment form). Entering the action into FASA takes the place of the application form. Please bear with us while we update our checklists and instructions. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Clinician Educators are faculty at the School of Medicine who engage in clinical care and teaching that advances clinical medicine.
Clinician Educators (Affiliated) are employed by other institutions that have an affiliation agreement with the School of Medicine or Stanford Health Care, and they provide patient care, clinical teaching or other services which advance the missions of SHC.
Submissions
CE and Instructor files submitted for OAA review for appointments, reappointments, and promotions need to be submitted 60 days in advance of the requested start date.
CE and Instructor requests for extensions and FTE changes need to be submitted 45 days in advance of the requested start date.
Files submitted after these deadlines will not be guaranteed the requested start date. Due to the increasing volume of late submissions and exceptions requested, OAA has been forced to strictly follow the above guidelines for submission. Please adhere to the 45 or 60 day deadline.
