Prof. Khalil Amine is an adjunct professor at Stanford University working in the development of advanced energy storage field. He is responsible for mentoring students by providing lectures on renewable energy and energy storage, and supervising their research activities in these fields. He is also a distinguished fellow and leader of the Advanced Lithium Battery Technology team at Argonne National Laboratory, where he is responsible for directing the research and development of advanced materials and battery systems for HEV, PHEV, EV, satellite, military and medical applications. Prof. Amine currently serves as a board member of the Committee on Fuel Economy of Light Duty Vehicles at the U.S. National Research Consul, the US National Academies. He is the Founder and Chairman of the International Conference on Advanced Lithium Batteries for Automotive Applications (ABAA), which is organized every year since 2009. Prof. Amine is the president of the international meeting on lithium battery IMLB. LLC, the largest battery conference in the world that is held every 2 years. He is also the chairmen of the polymer and fuel cell conference PBFC and the president of the International Automotive Lithium Battery Association. Among his many awards, Prof. Amine is a 2003 recipient of Scientific America’s World Top 50 Scientist Award, a 2009 recipient of the US Federal Laboratory Award for Excellence in Technology Transfer, and is the five-times recipient of the R&D 100 Awards. In 2010, he received the ECS Battery Technology Award and the International Battery Association Award. In 2013, he was awarded the DOE outstanding scientist award. Prof. Amine holds 148 issued patents and has filed another 28 patents. He has over 432 peer-reviewed international publications. Since 1998, Prof. Amine holds the record of the most cited scientist in the world in the field of battery technology (source: Sciencewatch). He holds the record of publishing largest number of papers in the world on battery related topics since 2000 (source: Science Direct).  Prof. Amine is an associate editor of Nano energy journal.
