    They say that they have done this in embryos for seven couples, and that one has resulted in a healthy pregnancy (of twins).

    But from what is out so far, they are claiming to have used CRISPR to edit a single gene involved in HIV susceptibility. By disrupting this gene's function, they hoped to make the resulting children resistant to HIV.

    I anticipate that news is going to be flying quickly over the next few days, so I would not be surprised if details change or are updated as more news comes out. There's also no published scientific article or data to review yet.

    A group in China is claiming to not only have successfully used CRISPR gene editing in embryos but to also have had those embryos result in a healthy pregnancy of twin girls. News is breaking quickly, but this article was a clear summary from earlier:
