Stanford Online offers a variety of professional education opportunities in conjunction with many of the University’s schools and departments, and free online courses taught by Stanford faculty to lifelong learners worldwide.
Stanford Online is a university-wide initiative coordinated by the Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning (VPTL), which promotes and advances the vibrant intellectual endeavor of teaching and learning at Stanford.
VPTL collaborates with faculty and departments to enrich the depth and range of Stanford learning experiences, and provides support to Stanford faculty and staff for course design and production, including instructional design services, content production, and online delivery. VPTL leverages digital technology to make Stanford research and scholarship more broadly accessible beyond campus. And VPTL supports the growing interest in Stanford’s extended educational programs, which provide meaningful learning opportunities to additional audiences around the world.
