Caroline Abadeer is a PhD candidate in political science at Stanford University, with concentrations in comparative politics and international relations. Her research addresses issues of urban governance, the informal economy, and the political economy of development in the Middle East.
My dissertation will explore how developing states in the Middle East implement their urban policies. How are urban policies made? In addition, what are the impacts of slum upgrading and resettlement programs on the affected populations? My dissertation will consider strategies of urban governance adopted in Morocco and the broader region.
