Special Teaching Opportunities

The Arts Intensive (AI) Program offers faculty the opportunity to teach small groups of Stanford students passionate about art.

Each quarter, one Stanford professor serves as Faculty-in-Residence in each of the BOSP program locations. These faculty teach classes in their own disciplines, often developing courses that incorporate unique features of the local culture and environment or that provide comparative perspectives on a particular topic.

Sophomore College offers faculty a unique teaching experience, in which students have no other obligations and are solely committed for the three weeks to their SoCo seminar. The program provides faculty a pedagogical laboratory in which they can experiment with experiential learning components and incorporate out-of-classroom activities.

Thinking Matters courses are all team taught, generating creative collaborations between Stanford faculty and post-doctoral fellows selected through a competitive national search.
