The Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning provides key resources for graduate students as you continue developing as learners and emerging teachers. We are here to help you develop your skills in the various roles you play on campus and will play once you leave Stanford — as students, teaching assistants, course assistants, course instructors, and future educators.
Develop your teaching skills

- How are your students learning? Tune up your students’ learning.
- Tune up your own skills. Coaching can help you develop strategies to solve your own time management, procrastination, and related challenges.
Get feedback from your students
- Mid-quarter is great time to ask for feedback from your students and help from consultants. VPTL consultants will meet with you about any teaching question or challenge. Request a consultant-led student discussion, class observation, video recording of your class, or teaching consultation.
- Do you have questions about the end-quarter section evaluations and how to customize them? Learn to use end-quarter evaluations.
Become a leader
- Do you want to expand your teaching experience? Find grad teaching opportunities.
- Love teaching? Mentor fellow students in their teaching. Become a Mentor in Teaching (MinT) Fellow in your department.
- Coach TAs across campus on teaching and teach workshops. Become a VPTL grad teaching consultant.
