AITC Immunization & Travel Clinic

To our valued AITC clients:

Our staff are soon to be temporarily reassigned by the Department of Public Health to assist with the local COVID-19 coronavirus response.

Starting March 16, 2020, and until further notice:

• We will be open for limited services and limited hours, only.
• We will continue to offer routine vaccination, TB testing, and blood testing services on a drop-in basis. 
• We will temporarily discontinue offering travel health visits and vaccinations for international travel.
• Our hours of operation will be Mon – Fri from 9:00 am – 12:30 pm, closed for lunch, and open 1:30 – 3:00 pm.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and will resume our regular services and hours as soon as we are able.

SHINGRIX is the preferred vaccine to prevent shingles (herpes zoster) in adults age 50 and up.  Please call to check availability as the manufacturer is shipping vaccine in limited quantities.

Measles is common in many other countries. In the United States, most of the measles cases result from international travel. The disease is brought into the US by unvaccinated travelers who get infected in other countries. Make sure you’re up to date with your measles vaccinations before you go!  The measles vaccine (MMR) also protects you against mumps and rubella.  For more information, see our measles page or the CDC measles page.

Call us!   As part of the SF Dept. Public Health, Section on Communicable Disease, we have the knowledge and resources to evaluate potential rabies exposures and determine next steps. We administer human rabies immune globulin (HRIG) and rabies vaccines when needed, carefully following CDC protocol, and we do this at costs well below hospital emergency departments, and without the long wait. We are out-of-network for all insurers, so you may also want to check with your health plan to see what costs they will cover.

AITC seeks to make vaccination easy and affordable for persons who lack medical insurance or are experiencing financial hardship.  Our free and low-cost vaccines change from time to time, depending on what we have available.  Please see prices and eligibility for free and low-cost vaccines at AITC.
