One pixel. More features.

The new Facebook pixel makes conversion tracking, optimization and remarketing easier than ever. Use the new pixel with standard events and you’ll be able to access all features below.
  • Conversion tracking. See how successful your ad is by seeing what happened as a direct result of your ad.
  • Optimization. Automatically bid for conversions after you set up your pixel.
  • Remarketing. Remarket to everyone who visits your site, or just to people who visit specific pages or take specific actions.

Put your pixel to work

  • When you add standard events, your conversions are tracked across mobile phones, tablets and desktop computers.
  • When you optimize your bids for website conversions, your ads will only show to people who are most likely to convert.
  • You can also remarket or reach people on Facebook who already visited your website. For example, people who visited your checkout page but not your order confirmation page. Learn how to set this up.
  • You can also use the Facebook pixel to find new customers who are similar to your website visitors by creating a lookalike audience. Create a lookalike audience once your pixel tracks a minimum of 100 conversions.

Set up conversion tracking

See how your ads perform by using standard events or Custom Conversions. Both make it easy to measure the performance of your Facebook ads, and to reach specific sets of people who have visited certain pages of your website.
  • Standard events represent the types of actions people take on your website, for example where people make purchases. You can set this up by adding a snippet of code to your Facebook Pixel.
  • Custom Conversions also lets you track conversions and set up audiences for remarketing by entering the URL you want to see directly into Ads Manager. If you don't want to add text to your pixel code, learn how to set up a custom conversion.

Get started with the Facebook pixel

  • Look for the <!--Facebook Pixel--> comment tag. It means you have the new pixel. This is what you want to do next.
  • If you don’t see the <!--Facebook Pixel--> comment tag, you have the old pixel
  • Both pixels are okay, but the standard events vary based on the type of base code
