Girl Skateboards invited us out to conduct interviews for Metro's Outside The Lines documentary, got to skate and interview a few of my all time favorites - Mike Carroll, Scott Johnston, Kelly Bird, and Rick Howard. we even had a Sean Malto sighting as we were getting ready to head back to SF. All in all it was one of the best times, SJ and Mike Carroll put on a demo of effortless style. We all commented about the fact that everyone present can cross witnessing Carroll's back smith in person off the collective bucket list. it was amazing, THANKS Brandon Jacobson, Rick Howard, Kelly Bird and Scott Johnston. LA ditch session - outside the lines travelogue 0.2

Lotta driving today, did manage to get a session it at a ditch spot just outside of LA. funny thing about this spot, we tried to skate this a few years back and this dude in a white pickup truck rolled on us. he told us, they were just about to turn on the water up top of the ditch, went on to let us know that the water comes rushing down without warning and we'd definitely die if we were down in there when it happened. his last words were "but its cool if you guys wanna skate it, i dont care one way or the other" needless to say we packed our boards up and skipped that sesh. not sure if that was the best kick out line in the world and we got mindf@#ked or if he was legit, cause i've never seen water in that thing and have driven by 20 plus times, haha. this time it was on! Ratfaces front blunt and kickflip were worth potentially getting washed away for. Outside The Lines documentary tour is officially under way. hope to see you out there!

Albuquerque NM has the best skate spots in the world! IIf that was not enough, the crew at 4D's skateshop became like instant family to all of us. put us up at their place, took us around to all the best eats in town and skated with us well into the early hours of the morning every day. miss all them dudes already. JD, Chris and Noah, you guys rule! So many good times, and ditches that're really difficult to tear yourself away from, stayed an extra day and ended up driving all night to make it to Austin on time. also, one hell of a mini ramp game of skate got caught on the gopro cam. enjoy.

Austin TX Legoland, batty bridge jump - Outside The Lines travelogue 0.7

First stop in Austin was Capital Skatepark http://www.capitalskateparkandproshop.com/, arrived right in the midst of skatecamp, but the kids were hyped to break for a few to see ratface flying around the place. Allan, the owner took us on a tour of Austin, we skated some amazing spots like legoland, the jersey barrier across the way from 5 hips, House Park and downtown Austin. If you've never been to Austin, at around sunset the bats leave the dark confines of under the bridge and spiral out into the night skies in unison, really cool to watch. Ratface mighta messed up the bats routine a bit, when he jumped off the bridge on a $50 dare from Daniel.

New Orleans - Pancakes, Humidity n' more Outside The Lines Travelogue 0.9

The Big Easy had plenty of dark narrow corridors, and no shortage of dark suspect types trying to lure you down for a quick surgery with a makeshift shank. Ratface, being the friendly type was about to venture down one of these so one such suspect could show him the "dollar beer spot". Ended up taking a pass on that ER tour and went midnight swimming in a classy apartment joints pool. Phillip, the owner of Humidity Skateshop, was down to show us around downtown, and we all had a blast skating down the New Orleans alleyways doing our best wild in the streets impression. In fact some of the best times of this trip have taken place at non spots. Austins main strip, Dallas TX parking garages, pretty much any patch of never ending pavement where everybody can roll fast and together psyched to be in a new place.

Florida - MIA, Flipside Ramp, Miami Fullpipe Outside The Lines Travelogue 1.0

Due to lush accomodations at my familys beach house, we extended our stay in florida. gave us enough time to visit Ed Selego, Joel Meinholz, and Danny Fuenzalida of MIA skateshop in Miami https://www.facebook.com/MIASkateshop It was worth the drive, because they took us to a strip with a few of the sickest spots i'd seen in a minute, small, tight two foot trannies, running slightly downhill with the possibility of dropping off the trannys end as if was a ledge, super fun. right next door was a great looking hubba, which Daniel proceeded to wallie 180 with apparent ease. On the way home we spotted a fullpipe and double set across from the freeway and Ratface got creatively sketchy. 8 it was a perfect layout. concrete and built by skaters the way every park should be, lines flowed into one another and if pushings not your gig, there were a multitude of ways to avoid it. ended that session with a few Big Hugs from the owners, (the blue drinks they sell in the south, not the physical variety, haha) We're just entering North Carolina, smooth roads up ahead.
