Thank you for everyone who could join us for COVID-19 Genetics: Pandemic Research in Real-time, with alumni Jeffrey Pollard, Resident ’06 and Anjali Shastri, PhD ’03 as they present the findings from 23andMe's COVID-19 study, including the identification of genetic and non-genetic factors that may influence disease severity.


2/17/21: Half Century Club Virtual Celebration

Thank you to all who were able to attend the Half Century Club Virtual Celebration, honoring medical alumni who graduated more than 50 years ago, with guest speaker and author of The Genome Odyssey, Dr. Euan Ashley.


1/27/21: Curing COVID: The Outlook for Vaccines and Therapeutics

Thank you to all who were able to join us to hear alumna Bonnie Maldonado present on the latest developments for coronavirus vaccines and therapeutics, and the outlook for the future of our global health.


11/18/20: Virtual Care in a Post-COVID World

Thank you to everyone who could join us for the second installment of our Alumni to Alumni speaker series. This talk featured Ian Tong, Resident '05, Chief Medical Officer at Doctor on Demand on the topic of the rapid emergence of telemedicine in a post-covid world and how it is changing health care.

Intersectionality

Thank you to all that could join us for the 2020 LGBTQ+ Forum on Wednesday, October 7, on Zoom! This year’s Forum was centered on the theme of Intersectionality in recognition that now more than ever, it is imperative to prioritize an inclusive and equitable community for intersectional LGBTQ+ groups. 


09/10/2020: Medicine in the Bubble - The NBA and Covid-19

Thank you to all that could join us for the kickoff of our Alumni to Alumni virtual speaker series as we hosted Leroy Sims BS '01, MS '02, MD '07,  Vice President and Medical Director of the National Basketball Association (NBA) to hear how he developed a medical protocol plan for delivering a safe and responsible season in the midst of a pandemic. We learned about the many aspects of working with hospitals, clinics, physicians, first responders and other key partners to ensure optimum medical care to 22 teams in a unique isolation zone that saved the 2020 play-off season!
