Entry and Access
SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is located at 2575 Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park, California. For directions to the Lab, please go to the Maps and Directions page.
If you do not have a valid SLAC badge, you must access the site via the Sand Hill Road main gate. Stay in the left entry lane and stop at the guard house; you will need to let the guard know what event you're attending or which SLAC staff member you are coming to see and present a valid, government-issued photo ID. Please note that you must present a valid driver's licence in order to drive anywhere on the SLAC site. Security will provide any necessary directions or parking information.

Public Events
SLAC holds a variety of public events, including lectures and scientific conferences. If you are coming to SLAC to attend one of these events, simply follow the entry instructions above.
If you are interested in a tour of SLAC, please see the Public Tours page. If you are interested in learning about other public events with SLAC, please see the Connect with Us page.
All Other Guests to SLAC
Guests who are not attending a public event and do not have a valid SLAC badge must be invited by a SLAC employee. Guests and visitors working at SLAC will need to have proper identification documentation with them when they arrive at the laboratory to be granted site access and to be allowed to work. Please make sure that you bring the appropriate documents with you to avoid any delays during check-in. Your SLAC sponsor/point of contact (POC) will coordinate with you any pre-arrival actions that may be necessary for your visit. See the Visitors and Users pages for more information.

After Hours
If you do not have a SLAC badge or your badge is expired, and you are arriving at SLAC outside of business hours, please enter via the main gate on Sand Hill Road. A temporary badge will be issued to users and other approved visitors who have completed the necessary pre-arrival steps and are on the site access list. You will then need to check in at the VUE Center on the next business day to obtain your SLAC badge.
If you are a construction subcontractor, your SLAC POC will need to complete a Subcontractor/Vendor After Hours Site Entry form for all work to be performed at SLAC after business hours and weekends, and ensure that you have a valid badge and training before you can enter the site outside SLAC work hours (SLAC work hours are Monday-Friday from 06:00am to 06:00pm). The SLAC field construction manager must be on site when you are here after hours and on weekends.
If you have any questions about the arrival process, please contact your SLAC POC or the VUE Center.
