Site Registration Help

Learn how to set up your account on the Alumni Network.

How do I register to create my online alumni account, including my free alumni e-mail address?

We highly encourage all Stanford GSB alumni and non-alumni parents, spouses, donors, staff, and friends to register for access to the Alumni Network.

Current students will need to register for alumni username and password in order to access GSB alumni directories, event registration, and all password protected content and services on the GSB alumni website. Note that this username and password is not the same as your SUNet ID, which is used to access GSB internal student sites.

Admits do not have access to alumni services until November 1st of their admitting year.

Non-alumni will not be able to access certain alumni-only features, such as Alumni Email and the Alumni Directory, but will be able to take advantage of other useful features open to alumni and non-alumni alike.

To Register

You must verify your identity by providing your Stanford University Identification (SUID) Number and your last name.

If you do not know your SUID number, see below for “How do I find out what my Stanford University ID (SUID) is so that I may register?

You can also select the “I Don’t Know” button, where you will be able to create an account with guest privileges. Once your identity is verified, your account will need to be updated manually by our staff, and will result in a delay in your access to alumni-only site features.

If you are a Stanford-affiliated non-alumnus/alumna, you must also verify your identity. You may well have an SUID number in our records. SUID numbers are granted to all affiliates, not just students.

Tips

  • The registration process will provide you with detailed instructions at each step. More helpful information is instantly accessible by clicking the question mark icon found on each page.
  • If you are an alumnus/alumna, please note that the username you create will also become your free alumni e-mail address. For example, if the username you create is “mary.smith,” your email address will be “mary.smith @ alumni.gsb.stanford.edu.” Choose your username carefully, as it cannot be changed later.
Why can’t I access certain features of the web site?

If when accessing certain areas of the Alumni Network, you receive the following error message: “You are logged in, but do not have access to the page or service you selected,” please note that — although anyone is welcome to create an account — only alumni of Stanford GSB, are eligible to access certain restricted features of the Alumni Network.

Non-alumni users are encouraged to create an online account. If you believe the current level of access you possess is incorrect, please contact Online Customer Service.

How do I find out what my Stanford University ID (SUID) is so that I may register?

Your SUID is the original, unique identification number that you had as a student at Stanford GSB. Non-alumni, such as parents of students, donors to Stanford, spouses and domestic partners of students and alumni, children of students and alumni, and faculty and staff members may also have SUID numbers.

Please use our online Identification Information Request Form. You will be asked to answer several questions to verify your identity, and once your submission is received, a Customer Service Representative will send your Stanford University Identification (SUID) number to the valid, non-Stanford e-mail address you specify on the form.

If you do not have a valid, non-Stanford e-mail address, or for some other reason are not able to use the above form, please phone Customer Service toll-free at 1 (866) 543-0243 in the United States or (650) 724-0627 international, between the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Pacific time Monday through Friday.

Tips

Your Stanford GSB Alumni Network account is tied to your SUID number. For this reason, you never need to re-register on the web site if you already have an account in our records. Simply use the Identification Information Request Form to request your existing username and password.

Why doesn't the system recognize my degree, birth date, and class year when I try to register?

If the system is unable to locate your record after you enter your birth date, degree, and major during the registration process, it does not mean that you are not in our database. Most likely, we are either missing a piece of information or your degree is listed differently than you may recall.

Tips

If your need to register is urgent, you can also click the “I don’t know” button during the registration process to indicate that you do have any of the required information on hand. You will be able to create a username and password, but your account will not have access privileges based on your eligibility until it is manually updated. You will, however, be able to register for events and other time sensitive offerings.
