• BoardSource: BoardSource seeks to improve the effectiveness of nonprofits by strengthening their boards of directors through its consulting services.
• Stanford Women on Boards Initiative: The goal of the Stanford Women on Boards Initiative is to increase the representation of women on boards through providing thought leadership, creating a learning community, and creating a registry through which board-qualified women can be found.
• The Volunteer Center (San Francisco/San Mateo Counties): The VC has a BoardMatch program with regularly scheduled training and matching events where nonprofits and potential board members can connect with one another.

• Stanford Alumni Consulting Team (pro bono service): Since 1987, the Stanford Alumni Consulting Team (ACT) has delivered pro bono management consulting services to hundreds of San Francisco Bay Area nonprofits through a network of Stanford GSB alumni, contributing an estimated $3 million worth of consulting services annually.
• Community at Work: Access a team of expert facilitators who support organizations in finding inclusive, innovative solutions that lead to sustainable agreements. Consultants also offer skills in strategic planning, team development, and organization redesign.
• CompassPoint Nonprofit Services: Find support for community-based nonprofits in the areas of executive transitions, planning, boards of directors, finance systems and business planning, fundraising, and technology.
• Encore Fellowships Encore matches experienced professionals at the end of their midlife careers with social purpose organizations in need of their particular skills and talent. Fellows spend 1,000 hours (half time for one year or full time for six months) working on capacity building assignments or interim roles for a fraction of market value. An Encore Fellow could be a good resource for implementation of Stanford ACT or HBS Community Partners pro bono consulting recommendations.
• HBS Community Partners (pro bono service): Harvard Business School alumni apply their business and management skills as volunteer consultants working in the nonprofit sector.
• Inspire (pro bono service): Members of top tier consulting firms (Bain & Company, Parthenon-EY, L.E.K. Consulting, and Deloitte Consulting) bring strategic thinking and results-oriented analysis on a volunteer basis to the leaders of schools and youth-focused non-profits in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, D.C., and San Francisco.
• Net Impact (pro bono service): Net Impact members share their business expertise with nonprofits in the areas of marketing, finance, business planning, fundraising, strategic planning, and new program development.

• Stanford Law School Nonprofit Corporations Form and Sample Documents: This website contains a collection of forms and precedent legal documents relating to nonprofit organizations. The documents relate to a variety of matters, including corporate governance; programs; earned income activities; and fiscal sponsorship and other relationships unique to nonprofits.
• Green Pro Bono: Green Pro Bono is the first nonprofit pro bono legal initiative in the United States dedicated to helping climate-change-driven nonprofit organizations and social entrepreneurs.
• How to Form a Nonprofit Corporation: This guide provides instructions for each of the steps required to achieve legal nonprofit status and become a tax-exempt organization.
• Justice & Diversity Center Homeless Advocacy Project: The largest individual project at the Justice & Diversity Center at The Bar Association of San Francisco, HAP provides legal services and supporting social services to individuals and families in San Francisco who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness, while prioritizing individuals who have mental health disabilities.

• Business Volunteers for the Arts: Business professionals share their expertise with arts nonprofits.
• The Wallace Foundation: An online knowledge center features resources for several subsectors of the nonprofit field, with an-excellent-set of studies, reports, and data on the arts.
