Volunteer with us

We need people like you. People who know that while we all come from diverse backgrounds, we’re all one community. Together we can make sure everyone has the nutritious food they need to thrive.

We have a number of volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups of five or more people.

COVID-19 update: December 3 announcement of a new Regional Stay Home Order – Second Harvest is deemed an essential service provider during the COVID-19 pandemic and must remain fully operational to ensure everyone in our community has access to nutritious food. This means volunteers supporting the pandemic response are considered essential. For more information on how we’re keeping our facilities and distributions safe, click here.

We are honoring Santa Clara County’s mandatory 14 day quarantine for those that have returned from travel more than 150 miles outside our service area beginning November 30. Please volunteer at a date that allows you to quarantine if required.

Due to the pandemic, group shifts are limited. Please consider signing up as an individual.

At this time we do not recommend that seniors (65+) or anyone with a chronic health condition volunteer. If you are sick please cancel your shift – any volunteer that is showing signs of illness will be asked to leave and return when well.
