No, our Round 3 deadline remains 08 April 2020 at 2:00pm Pacific Time. We understand the challenges that some of you face in submitting your application on time. We also need to make sure we are able to meet the needs of all applicants as Round 3 includes defer-eligible applicants and applicants who wish to enroll directly in September 2020. We are keeping the deadline to ensure applicants who are applying for direct admission this fall have enough time to complete all of their pre-matriculation requirements and next steps related to housing, financial aid, etc. We will allow all applicants to submit required exam scores after the Round 3 deadline (see below).

We understand that many people around the world have experienced significant disruptions, and that this may affect a recommender’s ability to submit his or her letter on time. You may switch to another recommender, or have your recommender contact us if they need an extension. In the meantime, go ahead and submit your application on time, even if the letters of recommendation have not yet been completed.

Even if you haven’t been able to take the required exam(s) yet, we encourage you to apply. Please submit your application by 08 April 2020 following the instructions below. Once you are able to take the exam, you will be able to add your unofficial scores to your application. If you cannot submit your scores before we post our decisions on 21 May 2020 and you are considered to be a competitive applicant, we may invite you to join the waitpool until we receive your scores and can further consider your candidacy. We will accept test scores up until 01 August 2020, although we hope that test centers or online testing options will be available before that time.

If you are unable to take an exam, you should still submit your application by the Round 3 deadline. You will need to enter temporary scores in the required fields in the “Test Scores” section. If you will be taking the GMAT exam, please enter zeroes (“0”) in all required fields. If you will be taking the GRE exam, please enter 130 in the required score fields and zeroes (“0”) in all required percentile fields. If you are required to take an English proficiency exam, please select the option, “I have just taken an exam”. You should also explain your testing circumstances in the “Additional Information” section of your MBA application. If you have valid test scores from a previous exam, you may also share those scores in “Additional Information”. After the deadline, once you have received your unofficial scores, please log in to your application and click on the “Provide New Information” link to submit them to us. We must receive your unofficial scores by 01 August 2020 for you to be admitted in Round 3.

We may begin reviewing your application before receiving your test scores. Please submit them as soon as you have them. If you are otherwise a competitive candidate, you may be invited to interview or to join the waitpool. No one will be denied *because* we do not have your scores, but if your application is not otherwise among the most competitive in our pool, you may be denied when we release Round 3 decisions on 21 May 2020 (or any time after 21 May 2020 if you are in the waitpool). No one will be admitted without scores.

No, you cannot be admitted without test scores. However, if you cannot submit your scores before we release Round 3 decisions on 21 May 2020 and you are considered to be a competitive applicant, we may place you in the waitpool in order to further consider your candidacy. Please provide your test scores as soon as you have them. We will accept test scores up until 01 August 2020 for candidates who are still in the waitpool at that time, although we hope that test centers or online testing options will be available before that time.

Yes. We will release Round 3 decisions on 21 May 2020, and waitpool decisions throughout the summer. You will not be denied *because* we do not have your scores, but you may be denied before you have submitted them.

The earlier, the better. Receiving your scores early in Round 3 will help us evaluate your application fully in time for Round 3 decision notification on 21 May 2020. If we do not have your scores at that time and invite you to join the waitpool, please send your scores as soon as you have them. We will accept test scores up until 01 August 2020. It *is* possible that you would be denied from the waitpool before 01 August, whether we have scores or not.

Yes. Follow the directions above for entering temporary scores in the “Test Scores” section. After the deadline, if you want to use your old test scores instead of your new ones, please log in to your application and click on the “Provide New Information” link to submit them to us. We must receive your test scores by 01 August 2020 for you to be admitted in Round 3.

We recognize that these are unusual times, and many universities have modified their instructional formats and/or grading systems to accommodate COVID-19 circumstances. We know our applicants are active learners, and trust that you are learning both from your classes and from this experience. If you need to explain your new learning situation, please use the “Additional Information” section of your MBA application.

We recognize that these are unprecedented and uncertain times as the U.S. State Department has suspended routine visa services in most countries worldwide. Any admitted international student who is unable to start the Stanford MBA Program in September due to a visa issue despite his or her best efforts will be considered for a deferral to next year’s MBA class. We hope that visa services will resume again in the not-so-distant future, and we will support students through the visa process.

As long as your degree will be conferred by 01 September 2020 OR you are currently enrolled in a graduate program that you began immediately following an undergraduate or undergraduate/graduate program, you are eligible for deferred enrollment in Round 3.

If you do not qualify for deferred enrollment, you should apply for the year in which you want to enroll. For example, if you wish to enroll in September 2020 you should apply in Round 3. If you wish to enroll in September 2021 or later, you should wait to apply.
