Now active: GrantForward trial for Stanford!

Beginning July 15, 2021, Stanford has entered a six-month trial with GrantForward Funding Search and Grant Recommendation Service, which is open to all members of our institution. We invite you to sign up to use the service to keep your awareness of funding opportunities—and share your feedback with us.

GrantForward (see quick overview video) helps you find grant opportunities that suit your research needs with a database of grants from over 15,000 sponsors which is updated daily. You may access GrantForward at www.grantforward.com. To be able to use full search features including saved-search and personalized grant recommendations, please sign up (see quick demo) for a user account using your Stanford email address. We also encourage you to take a few minutes to create your “Researcher Profile” (see quick demo) to start receiving grant recommendations!

You may download the Researcher Welcome Guide or the Administrator Welcome Guide to quickly get started with using GrantForward. Additional tutorials and guides are available on the GrantForward Support page, and video tutorials on their YouTube Channel. If you have any questions about the service, please contact Kim Baeten or support@grantforward.com for assistance.

SoM Grant Writing Resources

Proposal Development Office (PDO), School of Medicine

The Proposal Development Office helps faculty members and teams from across the School of Medicine develop high-quality grant proposals. Its priorities for grants include large, complex, multi-investigator proposals, grants on topics aligned with the Dean's initiatives, and junior faculty, i.e., assistant professors, applying for their first major research grants, such as NIH R01 and similar grants. PDO’s services include identification of funding opportunities, review and editing of proposals, assistance drafting administrative documents, project management and support for large proposals, interfacing with sponsors and university central offices, and promoting collaborations. Please contact PDO directly at: proposaldevelopment_som@stanford.edu

The Office of Faculty Development and Diversity (OFDD)

This office is a unique resource for School of Medicine faculty applying for grants. Its priorities include junior faculty applying for their first major research grants. In addition to workshops on grantsmanship and transition to independence, OFDD services include individual mentorship and one-on-one advising designed to edit proposals, define, develop and elucidate scientific questions related to these efforts, establish project management parameters and facilitate and improve manuscript writing. Please contact OFDD directly.
