Campus responds to Trump memo on definition of gender

Following Sunday’s publication of a memo showing that the Trump administration is considering narrowing the federal definition of gender to solely sex assigned at birth, University administrators reaffirmed Stanford’s support for all gender identities. Multiple student groups also responded to the possibility of redefinition.

New website crowdsources data on autism diagnoses

Researchers at the Stanford School of Medicine recently developed a crowdsourcing tool to map locations across the globe where autism is prevalent. The tool, GapMap, aims to pinpoint which communities require more resources in order to diagnose and treat those with autism.

Community associates foster community amongst graduate students

Graduate community associates (CAs) tackle the unique challenges of building community among graduate students living on campus. CAs, much like resident assistants (RAs) for undergraduate students, live in community halls and are a resource to fellow students. However, they work with a more decentralized and self-sufficient residential community.
