How do I use the camera on Facebook?
You can use the Facebook camera (example: ) to take and edit new photos and videos. You can try different camera modes (example: boomerang, live) or creative tools, then share your photos or videos in a post or to your story.
To take a photo or video to share in a post:
- Open the Facebook app for iOS or Android.
- Tap What's on your mind? at the top of your News Feed.
- Tap Photo/Video, then tap in the top right.
- You can choose different camera settings:
- Tap to take a photo, or tap and hold to record a video.
- Tap to rotate your camera or to turn the flash on or off.
- Tap LIVE to start a live video.
- Tap BOOMERANG to take a burst of photos that loops forward and backward.
- Tap to add a photo or video from your camera roll.
- After you take your photo or video, you can tap Aa to add text, to add a sticker, or to draw on it. Tap Effects to add other creative effects or filters.
- Tap Save to save your photo or video to your camera roll.
- Tap Next in the bottom right. To change your audience, you can tap the audience selector below your name (example: Public or Friends).
- Tap Post.
To take a photo or video to share to a story:
- Open the Facebook app for iOS or Android.
- Tap + Create a Story at the top of your News Feed.
- Tap Camera. From there, you can:
- Tap to take a photo, or tap and hold to record a video.
- Tap to rotate your camera or to turn the flash on or off.
- Tap BOOMERANG to take a burst of photos that loops forward and backward.
- Tap to add a photo or video from your camera roll.
- After you take your photo or video, you can tap Aa to add text, to add a sticker, or to draw on it. Tap Effects to add other creative effects or filters.
- Tap Privacy in the bottom left to change your story audience (example: Public, Friends).
- Tap Share to Story.
