Undergraduate Package Center
Stanford partners with FedEx Office to provide Undergraduate Package Center services. FedEx Office is conveniently located on the first floor of Tresidder Memorial Union (next to the Tree House).
NEW SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDANCE: Undergraduate students should have packages sent to the FedEx Office in Tresidder. Due to the shelter-in-place restrictions, hours and method of service at the FedEx Office have changed. Operating hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Their office is closed to the public, but students can call (650) 723-3132 and press #9 for package retrieval. Have your tracking number ready.
How should I address my packages?
The following addressing standard should be used ensure proper delivery of packages. For packages serviced by the U.S. Postal Service, please see the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) section below.

In addition to a different address, this new addressing standard also incorporates your SUNet ID. You will continue to use your P.O. Box # for those packages delivered by the USPS. Packages sent through all carriers except the USPS will be available at the FedEx Office Business Center at Tresidder Union for pickup. All packages delivered by the USPS will be available at the on-campus US Post Office location. Please be sure to follow the addressing standard (as shown above) to ensure proper processing of your delivery as well as quick notification of its arrival.
How Can I confirm FedEx Office has my package?
Students should utilize the FedEx Office package lookup tool before proceeding to the FedEx Office business center to retrieve their packages. Due to package volume, packages may not be immediately available for release even if it is shown as delivered by the carrier. Using the package lookup tool is very easy, just access the package lookup link below and type in the complete tracking number for your package. If there is a match, your package is ready for pickup at the FedEx Office location. Student ID or a valid picture ID will be required before packages can be released from FedEx Office.

Please be aware that mail or packages from any delivery service will not be accepted in undergraduate residences or by the Housing Front Desks.
For students interested in using delivery services such as Google Shopping Express, Postmates, etc., please leave your telephone number in the "notes" section of your order. Couriers are prohibited from entering undergraduate residences, so you must meet the driver for delivery. You may also opt to have your Google Shopping Express packages delivered directly to the Package Center by following the addressing standard for the FedEx Office location above.

United States Postal Service
Residents receiving USPS mail or packages can also continue to use their USPS Post Office Box address for those deliveries.
- The on-site U.S. Post Office branch (Tel: 650 321-4239) is located next to the Stanford Bookstore. Business hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., although their self-service box lobby continues to be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Each student is assigned a U.S. Post Office box number for the purpose of receiving mail and packages.
- If you are an incoming freshman or transfer student, you will be able to view your post office box assignment on Axess (under the Personal Info tab) in September, and you will receive your mailbox key at New Student Orientation (NSO).
NOTE: When visiting the Post Office, please remember to keep six feet between yourself and other patrons.
Special Instructions for the Row : For students relocated from the Row, who have used their Row address to receive mail and/or packages, we strongly encourage you change your shipping address for any future deliveries to ensure that you receive your packages directly and to avoid any potential mail or package theft. R&DE Student Housing staff are bringing inside any packages that are located outside of buildings as they are in the area; however, they are not monitoring for deliveries.
Please note: FedEx and UPS often partner with the US Postal Service for deliveries through their SmartPost and SurePost services. If you have something being shipped through these services, final delivery is done by the Postal Service to your P.O. Box at the Post Office in White Plaza. Please check the package delivery status by visiting USPS.com before contacting the Post Office.
If you are planning to ship items as you move to campus, please keep in mind that it is not possible to receive packages until after you arrive. Therefore, do not send your belongings in advance of your arrival. Packages that arrive before you do will be returned to sender.
Ship-to-School Service Option
To increase the ease and efficiency of moving into residences and shipping packages, Stanford housing has collaborated with our storage vendor, Collegeboxes, to provide Ship-to-School Service. This service provides a cost-effective, convenient, and reliable way to transport your personal belongings and packages, having them delivered directly to your room or apartment at a specific time. Please note that this is a separate process and service from standard package shipping and delivery (outlined above). The university assumes no responsibility for loss of, or damage to, items included in this process. Additionally, contracts with vendors are entered into by the student and the firm. The university is not a party to these contracts. See Storage Services for more information about this shipping option.
Mail and Packages in Graduate Housing
Residents of Graduate Housing may address mail and packages to their apartment.

Packages should be sent to your address after you have arrived and you have checked in and received your specific assignment. Otherwise, packages will be returned to sender/can get lost. If you aren’t home when the mail carrier/shipping company attempts to deliver a package too large to fit in your mailbox or slot, they may leave a slip indicating where and how to pick up the package; or they may simply leave the package in the lobby of your building, or outside of your building. We therefore do not recommend delivery of packages directly to your residence for this reason, unless you will be present to receive the package. Theft of your packages or their contents may result when packages are left behind in or around your address/building.
Conversely, residents of Graduate Housing may also utilize the optional services of the Graduate Housing Package Center (GPC), located in Escondido Village.
