The Ombuds is a confidential resource available to all faculty, staff, postdocs, students or other members of the Stanford community. There is a separate Ombuds Office for the School of Medicine.
Visitors to the Ombuds office are welcome to discuss any concern that is interfering with their academic or work life. The Ombuds will listen without judgment; offer information about policies and procedures, and help individuals identify and evaluate the different options available to address their concerns. The Ombuds Office is also a good place to confidentially raise concerns or recommendations for systems-level change.
All meetings are kept strictly confidential and individuals remain in control of how they wish to address their concerns.
Communications to the Ombuds do not put the University on notice of the content of the communication.
