    Alexandra Field is a correspondent for CNN/U.S., based in New York City.

    Since joining CNN, Field has contributed to the network's reporting of the chemical spill that tainted the water supply in West Virginia, the deadly Metro-North train derailment and the criminal investigation into the death of actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Most recently, Field has covered the negotiations of the sale of the Los Angeles Clippers and the challenges surrounding the search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.

    Field previously served as a reporter for WHDH-TV, the NBC affiliate in Boston, where she reported live from Newtown, Conn., within hours of the deadly Sandy Hook shooting. She also contributed to WHDH's coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings and the subsequent hunt for the two terror suspects. Prior to WHDH, Field was a reporter/anchor at WRGB, in Albany, N.Y., before being promoted to political reporter, where she also served as the station's Capitol correspondent covering Governor Andrew Cuomo's administration, including the landmark vote to legalize same sex marriage. Field also spent time as a general assignment reporter and anchor of the 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts for WWNY TV 7, the CBS affiliate in northern New York and southeast Ontario.

    During her time at WWNY, Field was recognized for her reporting with a Syracuse Press Club Award and also received an award from the Associated Press for her outstanding spot news coverage. She holds a dual bachelor's degree in history and French from Hamilton College and a master's degree in journalism from the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University.
