Iraq: jihad for kids

We've all seen photos many times of Palestinian children dressed up as suicide bombers, etc. And a few years ago I wrote this article, "Jihad for Kids," about how jihadist attitudes are encouraged in games. Now here is more in this line, from Iraq: "Iraq's insurgent children learn how to become killers," from The Scotsman, with thanks to Twostellas:

SITTING cross-legged on the mosque floor, the 12-year-old boys listen avidly as the tough-looking man in front of them holds up a rocket-propelled grenade.

"Be careful of the Americans, but don’t fear their vehicles and technology," he says, turning the diamond-shaped warhead before a dozen pairs of widening eyes. "You see this small bomb? It can destroy any US Army Humvee and all the soldiers inside."

Placing the missile back in a wooden box beside him, the teacher then passes a wrapped lump of plastic explosive around the class, sparking a flurry of grasping hands. "Come on! It’s my turn," hisses one impatient young boy at his neighbour.

So begins lesson one of jihad for juniors, the newest recruits to Iraq’s insurgency. After nearly two years of struggle which has decimated their adult ranks, resistance commanders are grooming a fresh generation of child soldiers to carry on the fight.

A Mosque is a terrible thing to waste...

It turns one's stomach thinking children are being taught the finer points of shattering bodies & shown explosives in a classroom, nay religious environment.

Tell me it's not a clash of civilizations...

USMC Vet:

You are being insensitive to Muslim culture. Cultures are different but all are equally valid. Muslim culture is no better or worse than the culture you come from. If being a good Muslim means learning the finer points of using RPGs and C4 in between praying to Allah that the whole world will soon be brought to Islam, then who are you to say that this is not a valid cultural expression? Is this any different than the Boy Scouts or participating in a baseball league? Don't the Boy Scouts learn how to use knives, start fires and tie knots? How is this any different from learning how to use an RPG and C4? No response? I thought so. You are just another Western imperialist seeking to impose your cultural norms on a people that your government is seeking to re-colonize and steal their oil to boot.

/In case you didn't get it, the above is a parody of your typical cultural relativist, multi-culti, politically correct rant.

For those who missed it: Speaking of Jihad for kids, O'Reilly called out the Saudi funded Islamic school located in Virginia, and had two female graduates from the school on his program.

Of course, in standard form, they denied any militant teachings going on inside the school, although O'Reilly had a book from the same school with him and read a couple of lines from the text.

He busted them out pretty well. And, of course, when he asked them if American should destroy al Queda, they both looked like they were trying to spit hot coals out of their mouths....And of course, they never gave a straight answer.

Yes, D.C. I watched the show too. They did the old "it's not true islam" song and dance. They have all been schooled on how to lie to "infidels".

Ahhhh, the fine art of "taqiyya". Every single American should understand that term, the "war on terror" becomes so much clearer...

Mentat, great.

Good to know the religion of peace starts early.

These are sick puppies.

Wow,all those misspent years of my childhood
doing stuff with my Dad and the Cub Scouts, all that upbringing only made me a productive citizen
paying taxes to fund social programs that benefit all of the Country by creating solid citizens that become flexible to learn new skill for future
job prospects.

If only I had a Jihad-Daddy I would be going to paradise to be with Allah for slaughtering
thousands of civilians for the Islamic cause, now I'm destine for a life of hard work and helping the needy through supporting non-Muslim charities
that aid children.
I thought that C4 explosions were bad transmissions is Ford vehicles that overheat
and fry the clutch plates and rubber seals.

Oh well, maybe in my next life I'll be a Muslim.

Mentat: You're on a roll!

Zman would say: 'Don't look at our action, just look at our book...'

That dirty book! And the pope kissed it! Anyhow, the Jihad continues:

I hope they capture the guy instructing those kids and he fouls his breeches in front of his charges.

Guys,

We have to start teaching our kids young, too; there is no greater obstacle to teaching them the irrationality of moral/cultural relativism, political correctness, multiculuralism, and diversity studies that are being crammed down their throats in our schools under cover of "tolerance."

For now, there isn't much out there at children's level to oppose what our schools are teaching them, so TALK to your children; tell them who Muhammad was and what he did and told his followers to do; TALK to them about all the murders, the teaching of Muslim children to become sacrifices on the altar of Jihad; if you don't want to show them pictures of children's heads, with just a short length of spinal cord still attached after having been blown off their bodies to join the rest of the martyrs, at least TELL them about it; TELL them that Islam wants them to convert, and that it will kill those who refuse; and last but not least, WARN THEM not to engage in any of the "role-playing" lessons that are being handed out by Muslim organizations.

In teaching about the "five pillars of Islam," Pillar Number One is a recitation of a prayer that is the "Confession of faith."

And please, tell all your friends who have children, tell your pastor/rabbi/priest.

What most parents don't appreciate is that with the recitation of that prayer, even if it is in a language not understood by the reciter, the reciter is automatically and unwittingly converted to Islam.

And we all know what can happen to apostates.

Please, parents, don't be afraid to tell your children the truth about Islam and its believes/behaviors. Don't be afraid to tell them what needs to be done to protect ourselves; don't be afraid that your children will be scared witless by all this, or that their lives will be made miserable. Initial shock, probably; a few early nightmares, possibly; but permanent "damage to the psyche," absolutely not. Most of them play video games no worse than Islam!

Trust me; I know these things.

Cubed, I quite agree with you. If we can get the islamic taqqiya out of the public schools, those kids will head into college with Lots of questions for the leftist academics who are pushing the pro-terrorism line (whether they admit to it being so or not).

Vive' la (conservative) Revelucion!

Cubed, you give good advice; I just have one quibble with you: children are NOT converted to Islam by saying gibberish in Arabic or in English for that matter. Just because a Muslim would claim conversion, don't make it so. Just like when my daughters' Muslim friends paraded around my house last year with cloths on their heads, pretending to be Catholic nuns, didn't turn them into Christians.

In my opinion, children also need to know the funnier, more ridiculous side of Islam, e.g., if you accidentally pee a little as you're praying, your prayers don't count. Ridiculing Islam, which is deliciously easy to do, helps kids understand there is nothing sacred about it.

former liberal WF:

Think about what cubed is saying. After going through the ritual, which the muslims consider a valid "reversion", do you think that your child's name is NOT in a database somewhere claiming that he/she is now a muslim? Do you think those numbers will NOT be used by muslim organizations as they represent their inflated presence in the US in a ploy to gain greater social and political influence? Finally, do you doubt that islam would hesitate for one moment to impose the PENALTY for apostasy on your child, regardless of whether that child has any idea of what really happened?

CGW, you are right about pointing out the surrounding issues of concern; certainly NO child should be encouraged/tricked/coerced or otherwise manipulated into participating in a Muslim ritual. The fact that so many negative things could result from it, is one of the reasons Islam is so dangerous. And, of course, my children's welfare is my primary concern.

My main point was that we should NOT fall into the trap of allowing Islamic semantics to infect our own discourse and practices. Muslims might try to count these innocent children as converts; they might even target them for retribution as "apostates." Nevertheless, that is insanity. Sheep-like repetition of verses in Arabic does not make a convert of any kind. It merely emphasizes the immaturity of Islam and Muslims who seriously practice it.

former liberal WF:

I agree about the semantics issue, and you're right about the primitive nature of islam, but we should be ever-vigilant about protecting our children from ANY participation in ANY of their rituals. (I believe we are in complete agreement on this, also.)
