Jihad Watch Board Vice President Hugh Fitzgerald again discusses the destruction of art under Islamic auspices:
Of course in the mists of time, when no one was looking, Muslims destroyed monuments, churches, temples, cemeteries, statuary and artifacts of every kind. But that was then, you think to yourself. And this is now. And now, in the full light of history, knowing that they are being watched, surely they will not do such things. Surely, in this new 21st century, Muslims everywhere will watch their steps, and not desecrate, vandalize, destroy as before.
But then you look only at what has happened since the new century began, since 2000. And here is a tentative list off the top of my head:Bamiyan Buddhas, 1,500 years old, in Afghanistan, destroyed by Taliban with explosives, and technical help from Saudi and Pakistani engineers.
Tomb of Joseph in Israel, the grave marker reduced to rubble by the "Palestinians," despite that site supposedly being sacred to Muslims as well as to Jews.
A Hindu temple in Kuala Lumpur, where Hindus and Chinese both labor under the disguised Jizyah of the Bumiputra system.
Orthodox churches and monasteries, destroyed in Kosovo and Bosnia, in full view of NATO troops, the U.N., and the world's media.
And then, of course, the thousands of churches destroyed in Indonesia, as recorded by the Barnabas Fund.
The remaining Greco-Bactrian artifacts among the tiny holdings in the Kabul Museum.
The damage done to the Temple Mount structure by the excavations and vandalism to Solomon's Stables from the "Palestinians."
Statuary vandalized by Muslims -- both Christian statuary in a church in northern France, and pagan statuary in the Piazza del Popolo.
The medieval Armenian cemetery of Jugha in Azerbaijan -- obliterated by Azeri authorities.
Oh, these are just things that come off the top of one's head. Should one recall the damage done to the Parthenon by Turkish Muslim troops, or to the Sphinx by generations of Muslim Arabs in Egypt, or to damage to the monuments of classical antiquity or left by other pre-Islamic civilizations, all of which are, in the Muslim view, worthless, part of a general Jahiliyya (time of ignorance), and not to be treated with respect or interest.
Start your own list. Do what Sita Ram Goel and other Indian scholars did in compiling merely a list of the thousands of Hindu temples destroyed by Muslim invaders. Make up a list, for example, of the Christian churches of Constantinople, for five hundred years the richest, most important city in all of Christendom.
Go ahead. Now look that list over. Now think about the Louvre, the Prado, the National Gallery, the Uffizi, the Alte Pinakothek, the Rijksmuseum. Think of what those who followed the strictures of the late Sheik Bin Baz, or the still-living Al-Qaradawi, or the primitive Ahmadinejad, or the Grand Mufti of Egypt Ali Gomaa, would do to the contents of all those.
What do you propose to do about it?
Thailand has offered to pay to rebuild the Bamiyan Buddhas in Afghanistan. If Hamid Karzai does not permit this rebuilding, then the Americans will have a clear sign of what this "new" Afghanistan is all about. But they needn't wait. They need only read about the rogues' gallery of assorted bullies, former Taliban members who have decided to be slightly less Talibanish, drug lords and those who profit from the drug trade, and of course those battening on American and other Infidel aid, and now making out like gangs, or gangbusters.
And if Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, two of the three countries (the third was the U.A.E.) that recognized and supported the Taliban regime, do not offer to relieve Thailand of the payment, even though it was apparently Saudi and Pakstani engineers who made the destruction possible, then that too will tell us something.
Consult an article I wrote earlier, "But who will save the monuments?," for more on what has happened to non-Muslim artifacts and monuments and religious sites around the world. And don't be surprised to read tomorrow of irreversible damage done to Temple Mount from what the "Palestinians" have been doing with their digging inside.
Surely archaeologists and art historians must never return to any Muslim country any artifacts were acquired. In fact, the more of historic and esthetic value that is removed from such countries, the better.
Which brings us to Western Europe. What is going to happen, what has already been happening but under-reported, even in newspapers of the very places where the damage is being done, when Muslims start to destroy that fresco in Bologna, or the madonnas in museums, or what is in Assisi or in the Louvre, or the Rijksmuseum (starting perhaps with one of Rembrandt's rabbis), or in all the other museums, large and small, from the National Gallery to the Ashmolean and the Fitzwilliam, from the Louvre to the Musee Guimet and the Musee Nissim Camondo, in every country where Muslims, taught what Muslims are taught about sculpture and paintings (see Al-Bukhari, and read closely), take their Islam seriously.
Why, after all, would you expect them to do anything less? At least, at that moment when they feel they are powerful enough to act on their beliefs?
What is done with art will be done and is being done with the laws, customs, understandings, and settled life of the Infidels. It is happening in classrooms and in courts, in police forces and in the security services, in the press and radio and television, in government offices, wherever Muslims can make their views known and intimidate, by their presence or by making known that they are watching, the apparently helpless Infidels.
Those Infidels should no longer stand by helplessly, but should move to save our heritage before more of it is destroyed.
Do not forget all those Buddhist treasures and arts that were destroyed and looted along the silk road to China. It was the followers of that new religion of Islam that forced its way along that route centuries ago.
What is the no. of churches that have been burnt in Europe over the last couple of years. I know of 140 in Kosova that have been burnt down. 12 in france that were either burnt down and desecrated during the riots, there were a couple of churches that were attacked here in Holland after Theo van Gogh was murdered. Cetain of the Younger members of the Religion of Peace, have been tending to use a Hindu temple in Amsterdam as a toilet. There have been also the theft of I think 17 satatues from public places in England but they could be because they were sold for the metal and it is difficult to blame that on the Muslims. I would be nice the know the complete tally for the destruction of European monuments. Does anybody know of any more here in Europe.
Destroying Mecca & Medina in exchange for Rome & Paris is not a fair trade, but has there ever been fair trade with Moslems? Let us trade our statuary, sculptures, oil paintings, literature and music for concrete block walls, scrawled crescents, graffiti in
Arabic script and screeching ululations. Let us trade our colorful cool gardens for arid brown reg desert floors. In other words, let us trade art for fart.
From the very beginning, the Islam has been a project about shrinking the human mind to the lowest possible level, hovering just above mental retardation and the malnutrition that would follow. At the same time, Islam dips well into the zone of moral depravity and joylessness, a delusional threadbare hole in which cognitive occlusion begets revulsion at the sight of goodness.
Aux pair, the checkbook-wielding Marxists (aka Liberals, secular humanists, et al) --- reproachful self-loathers --- eagerly usher in their new friends the Moslems. How ironic that the Moslems praise themselves, and so must find their new European teammates, the fools, beneath contempt.

History, as Orwell depicted, is silly putty in the paws of a tyrant.
Or, in the Islamic case, fuel to burn in the engines of its eternal war machine.
With the non-combustible debris, mere rubble to pave the hypnotic road to Mecca.
Art is a deception that lures the faithful away from Allah.
It must be humbled to dust.
Islam prefers eris [strife] over eros [love].
And its future is an eclipse of every light that humanity has dragged out of the darkness of unconsciousness.
Islam is a headlong rush to return to unconsciousness.
The Shadow Womb, Allah.
Praxiteles' Dionysus with the infant Bacchus puts every Muslim doodle and curlicue to shame.
Rodin's "Thinker" challenges the headless creed.
Judy Chicago's "Dinner Party" mocks Islam's morbid misogyny.
And Jimi Hendrix's music drowns the caterwauling of every maudlin muezzin with sublime, bluesy super-sonics.
Give me liberty.
They can have death.
Why is Thailand offering to rebuild any Buddhas in Afghanistan? It's a stupid waste of their resources. Assuming that they have money to dedicate towards Buddhism, they should do it in one (or both) of the following ways:
The fact that anybody reading this would instantly recognize what a stupid expectation this is of Afghans says more than any debate over whether the Afghans should or shouldn't allow the Thai offer.
I'm still not entirely convinced that it wasn't the Muslims who destroyed the great library at Alexandria.
wallyUK-
It was burned a host of times during various conflicts, from Julius Caesar through the early anti-pagan Christians in the 4th century and the coup de grace was reputedly given to the Library of Alexandria's surviving works by the Islamic leader Omar in the 7th century.
Considering what Islam did to entire peoples, cities, and cultures, from Fez to Jakarta, hardly surprising. And made more believable by the telling quote, attributed to Omar, about the fate of the library's books (scrolls):
"If they agree with the Koran, we don't need them; if they disagree, we don't want them. Burn them all!"
It was said they used them to heat the baths of the town.
The lost works of Aristarchus, Heraclitus, Sappho, Aristophanes, Plato, Epimenedes, Anaxagoras, Democratus, Leucippus, Zeno, Hypatia, Euripedes, Menander, Catullus, Hero, Parmenides and hundreds of others, warming the waters to clean the hides of the implacable iconoclasts.
