Europe's Ghost: Tolerance, Jihadism, and the Crisis in the West

Radu.jpg

The late Michael Radu's new book, published posthumously, alas, by Encounter Books, discusses, clearly and forthrightly, the Islamization of Europe.

And it contains a Foreword written by...me.

"Michael Radu, with characteristic incisiveness, cuts through the mindless multicultural relativism of modern liberalism to demolish the illusions of well-meaning but ignorant appeasers of Islamic radicalism. The crux of his argument: tolerance of intolerant Muslims in Europe threatens the civil liberties and individual rights that European culture has so brilliantly advanced over centuries of struggle." -- Nils H. Wessell, former Director, Foreign Policy Research Institute

"Michael Radu has written a most interesting and comprehensive book about the important issues of Muslim immigration and Islamism in contemporary Europe. No matter what readers viewpoints might be they will learn an enormous amount." -- Barry Rubin, author of The Tragedy of the Middle East and Global Survey of Islamism

Michael Radu, with characteristic incisiveness, cuts through the mindless multicultural relativism of modern liberalism...

Better to call it leftism, or better yet what it really is: Marxism.

That would help our small cadre of anti-dhimmi intellectuals avert the red herring label far right that is so unjustly yet so routinely attached to them.

The literature of criticism of the Islamization of Europe is increasingly impressive; of course, it has to be converted into oppositional policy.

'Jihadwatch' has built up substantial archive on the theme:

Islam is the Greatest Lie in History

Mosab Yousef (photo), author of “Son of Hamas” presents his viewpoints very graphically in a TV interview with a Canadian show on CBC News. The problem is not Hamas alone, but Islam in general — the greatest lie in history. Without paying attention to the attempts by the journalist to stop him, Yousef states with the authority of a man who knows Islam, that the main danger comes from the fact that a fourth of the world’s population believes in this Allah cult and that it is a religion from God.

I don't buy any book that uses euphemisms like "Islamism" to avoid the real mcCoy, which is Islam.

The name Michael Radu is unfamiliar to me so I looked him up.

Michael Radu's bio from Foreign Policy Institute

Dr. Radu was born and grew up in Romania. He came to the United States and received his doctorate in international relations from Columbia University in 1981. He was author, co-author, or editor of 15 books, two of them due out later this year. He possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of terrorist groups worldwide and appeared regularly in local, national, and international media. He had also conducted research for a variety of US government agencies and served as an election monitor in Peru, Cambodia, and Romania. He was an editor and co-founder of Agora, a Romanian-language quarterly published by FPRI from 1987-91; the journal was distributed in Romania in the last years of the Ceausescu regime and included contributions from dissidents and exiles throughout Eastern Europe. His E-notes on a wide variety of topics appear on our website; he was also a frequent contributor to Orbis. He received two master’s degrees from Babes-Bolyai University (Romania), in philosophy and art history, and was a National Peace Fellow at the Hoover Institution in 1984–85.
Michael is survived by his wife, Patricia, to whom FPRI’s trustees and staff extend their heartfelt condolences. Michael will be greatly missed by his colleagues and community.

This certainly looks like a book I will be reading.

"Mindless cultural relativism"....How wonderfully put.

Interesting coincidences today. . .Michael Radu worked for the Foreign Policy Institute as mentioned in the bio above. Hugh Fitzgerald pointed us to a debate between Wafa Sultan and Daniel Pipes in an earlier thread (searching for that link I see JW has posted quite a bit I missed today . . .lot's of catching up to do).

Daniel Pipes, via FrontPageMag.com is currently reporting:

CAIR Attacks the Foreign Policy Research Institute

CAIR’s Philadelphia chapter is holding a press conference tomorrow (Wednesday, March 17) at which it plans “to announce the launch of a nationwide campaign to challenge anti-Islam bias in a series of children’s books that the Washington-based Muslim civil rights group says promote ‘hostility toward Islam and suspicion of Muslims’.”

*******

Between this, the Almontaser/EEOC suit, and the following report from CreepingSharia:

ACLU, ‘Asian’ Law group, demand FBI records on Muslim terror investigations

. . .it appears Islam has declared open season with legal jihad.

Although I will put this book on my reading list, the people who need to read it are western politicians, particularly all members of the European Parliament. When I have read my copy I will send it on to an appropriate MP and might I suggest that those of us who share the same concerns, think about doing the same. We have a bunch of idiots ruling the world and too many who are juvenile in their knowledge of islam and its hateful ideology slowly creeping into and destroying our way of life - that cannot be allowed to continue.

Unfortunately those who should read the book, like our ignorant politicians, probably won't even see it unless its stuck in their Israel bashing file.

Love the cover.......

I agree, Islam is what it is, a 7th century, primitive, barbarian, post-pagan ideology patterned after Mohammad's uncle's family moon-god Al-Ylah, renamed Allah, raised to a Judeo-Christian deity concept of "One" God, all pulled together as a totality belief system to validate plunder and slavery, especially women and children captives, rape, conquest, and booty, to aggrandize Islam.

I wrote something on the other thread about Islam's "inherent truth", which dovetails here: http://www.jihadwatch.org/2010/03/post-2.html#comment-651054
