Placing Torches [Incomplete] - Realistic Styled Minecraft Animation

19,912 views 4 weeks ago
Sorry it's a bit quiet. This is an animation I was making some months ago before I decided to stop making animations for a while. I started it before I did Herobrine Horror. It's not finished and I'm not going to finish it any time soon so I thought it would be good to publish what I already have. I haven't released any animations for a while and I've just gotten a lot of subscribers from The Bajan Canadian so I want to try to maintain my Youtube audience and keep my subscribers from leaving.

I recently hit 20 000 subscribers so this animation release can be in celebration of that.

Steve makes some torches and places them around in a cave in this video. As usual, it's made in Blender. There's a few problems though. The fire simulations are out of a place a bit for some of the torches. The hand animations are not so good especially at the part of striking the flint and steel because when I animated this I didn't know how to view the individual bones of each finger so I couldn't pose them. I know how to do that now though, as I did it for Herobrine Horror.

The main problem was the fire simulations for the torches which move and touch each other which was so hard to fix. I spent weeks on it, trying different stuff, waiting hours each time for it to bake and render. Now that I'm working on a game instead of YouTube stuff as my main priority, I've given up on fixing the fire or finishing the animation. You can easily see some of the fire problems in the last couple of seconds of this animation.

I hope you enjoy the video anyway.

If you are still reading, lets have some fun and confuse the people who haven't read the description. Choose a number, color, shape and month. Then put them in a sentence in this format: " (number) (shape)s are a (color) (month)." Here is an example: "Twelve pentagons are an orange September." Then, post that sentence in the comments. Either that or just find a way to put "Pagwood" into a comment. Show less
