"Stop Wildlife Crime: The Series"
A five-part online video series in September exploring the current wildlife crime crisis; its impact on elephants, rhinos and tigers; and what is being done to combat the problem. A new episode of "Stop Wildlife Crime: The Series" will premiere each Sunday at 7 p.m. EST, beginning Sept. 1 and ending Sept. 29 on https://www.youtube.com/wwfus.
The series gives viewers a big-picture look at wildlife crime and tells them what they can do to help. Each video features striking imagery and personal stories and facts from experts in the fields of government, security, forensics and conservation.

Camera traps help us to uncover invaluable information about rare species and their habitats, which we can then use to ensure that they are effectively protected. For example, on the Indonesian island of Sumatra camera traps are being used to help conduct surveys that will provide a map of tiger territory in Sumatra's lowland rainforest. These maps let us know where tigers live while providing crucial information to share with local governments when making land-use decisions, such as what forests most need to be protected from logging or from conversion to agriculture.
