A plan to install headscarf-shaped arches at both ends of east London's Brick Lane has been criticised by local artists and residents.
The arches are part of a £1.85m "cultural trail" proposed by Tower Hamlets Council for the street.
But local residents, including artist Tracey Emin, have said the plans are culturally insensitive.
They say the design is similar to a Muslim hijab, rather than representing the area's diverse communities.

I hate all religions, and to me it seems to be one of the most sinful things of all, to delude yourself and others even on too several generations. It would seem all other prejudice would pale in the prejudices against truth that persists in all these sin hating desert dogmas. How can you keep a straight face and proclaim god, especially this lame ass god of abraham. The deluded meanderings of a madman in the desert for too long.
I pity you willing servants of god, but I pity more the unwilling slaves to the current desert madmen, who claim some moral high ground to justify the human rights violations done in the name of Allah.
