Kashi Vishwanath Dham to be inaugurated today by PM Modi

It’s a historic day for Varanasi as the city is all decked up for the Kashi Vishwanath Dham’s (Kashi Vishwanath corridor) inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As per reports, the ceremony will be attended by all BJP chief ministers and deputy CMs. The ceremony will also broadcasted live from over 51000 places across the country.
The inauguration ceremony, which is known as Divya Kashi, Bhavya Kashi (divine Kashi, grand Kashi, will celebrate the renovation and beautification of the ancient Kashi Vishwanath temple and around Kashi. More than 3000 people, including artists and several noted people will be present at the inauguration. PM Modi will take a tour of the revered Ganges in a boat and will also perform the Ganga aarti after the inauguration program. All boats will be decorated with vibrant colourful lights.

The construction work will be completed in two phases and the first phase is in the final stage. The first stage includes construction of Mandir Chowk, Varanasi city gallery and museum, a multipurpose auditorium, hall and a center for devotees. There will also be a spiritual centre, Godoulia gate, bhogshala, a public facility and home for priests and sewadars, in the first phase.
The project is being built in an area of 5000 hectares and will connect Kashi Vishwanath Temple with the River Ganga. The corridor will also see the statue of Mother India between the temple court and the Ganga. The courtyard of Kashi Vishwanath Dham will have a statue of Kartikeya and Adi Shankaracharya while the idol of Queen Ahilyabai will also be installed in the premises.
The foundation stone of the corridor was laid in March 2019 by PM Modi.
