Good piece here on why corporate tax incentives are good for politicians, even if they make for terrible economic policy.

My favorite part of this thread and the quotes in the article is how well they capture the distinct personalities of each participant, and their style for engaging with...work one might find methodologically lacking.

The results were not as good for Democrats as the special congressional elections over the last year. But they’re consistent with recent so-called wave elections, like those in 2006 or 2010.

We need to watch out for people this week. From old article: “The evidence suggests that suicide “outbreaks” and “clusters” are real phenomena; one death can set off others. There’s a particularly strong effect from celebrity suicides.”

The new paper also echoes one of the less publicized messages from the original Warren research: It’s not just medical bills but also lost work due to illness that can disrupt people’s finances.

The "Marx ratio": profit per worker / median pay. The more a company’s ability to generate profits is driven by things shareholders own — patents, a well-known brand or capital goods like machines and real estate — the higher its Marx Ratio will tend to be

My instinct, based on no real analysis, is that the generic ballot would have higher undecideds and perhaps be better for the GOP at this early stage. OTOH, maybe the 'control' question is a better indicator of the national environment.
