Great news. Justice Tamika Montgomery-Reeves would be just the second woman of color to serve on the 3rd Circuit following Arianna Freeman’s confirmation to the court this year. Cindy Chung, who’d be the first Asian American to serve on the 3rd Circuit, is awaiting confirmation.

#BREAKING: The Senate has passed legislation to protect same-sex and interracial marriage, called the Respect for Marriage Act, in a landmark bipartisan vote. The House will now need to approve the legislation before sending it to the President.

This violence is driven by racism +bigotry and made increasingly possible by the loosening of gun restrictions +the avail of assault weapons +high-capacity magazines. It's encouraged by the validation of violence that we increasingly see from emboldened extremist factions. 🧵

This shooting directly targeted the LGBTQ+ community and reflects the documented rise in hate crimes in recent yrs. Such targeted violence is an intentional tool of hate and oppression, meant not only to kill but also to spread fear across communities. 🧵
